what is the point in belonging to a surgery that never has any appointments, that obviously continues to accept new patients when they simply do not have the doctors available to cover the appointments.
yesterday i visited the surgery to make an appointment, i was told there were none for 3 weeks! how can this be acceptable in any shape or fashion. I have tonight attempted to go online to book an appointment, the system says THERE ARE NO APPOINTMENTS FOR YOU TO BOOK.?
MY ADVICE TO ANYONE READING THIS IS IF YOU WANT TO SEE A DOCTOR, THEN DO NOT ATTEND THIS SURGERY AS YOUWILL BE DISAPPOINTED...!
This is by a longstanding patient of Glenlynn Medical Centre who will be looking for another surgery.
I tried to make an appointment today and was told there were none available i.e. no urgent or pre-booked appointments. As instructed, I rang back at 1.30 to get an urgent appointment for today and was given an appointment for 13 May, one week from now. The receptionist suggested I ring again at 8.00 tomorrow to try for an urgent appointment……
I've been registered with this practice for over 30 years - this is just not good enough.
Tried to get an appointment, none free after holding for 20 mins, told to call back in the afternoon & guess what, none available
A large practice but probably only two really good GPs here that are almost impossible to get appointments with individually - typically 2- 3 weeks in advance.
Some GPs here are arrogant, disrespectful with no time for patients (well me at least!) which grinds a bit with this over 50 y.o. particularly as the GP in question had cancelled and rearranged the appointment anyway - wasting my time. I suppose some would say this is the classic UK doctor - but certainly no evidence of a service culture!
Unfortunately, there is little choice in the area with only one other, much smaller practice locally but in a saner world Glenlyn would be closed down and we would all start again.
Never appointments available. I made an appointment to see a GP, waited over an hour and saw a nurse practitioner instead. Appalling.
Also have had a telephone appointment where the GP has failed to cell, I then had to wait another 2 weeks for a replacement appointment, even though it wasn't my fault.
